Two Lansing men were robbed at gun point by two other Lansing men.
Police were called to the 3500 block of Bayview Drive at about 12:45 pm. Two Lansing men informed the police that they had picked up two acquaintances and drove them to the area to park; the reason why is unknown. The victims stated that one of their acquaintances demanded money while the other pulled out a gun. A shot was fired. The circumstance of the discharge is also unknown.
The acquaintances escaped with money; however, police were led to a townhouse within the 3900 block of Hunters Ridge where the two assailants were arrested without incident. They are scheduled for arraignment on a charge of robbery. Whether the assailants are being charged with Armed Robbery or (unarmed) Robbery is unknown.
Armed Robbery is a felony punishable by imprisonment for life or any term of years. If an aggravated assault or serious injury results, the person must be sentenced to a minimum term of imprisonment of two years.
(Unarmed) Robbery is a felony punishable by imprisonment for not more than 15 years.
